They are called Sankey diagrams

After posting Income Expense Profit flow Diagrams, a few readers informed me that those diagrams have a name. Sankey diagrams.

And two people sent me the link to SankeyMATIC, which can create these diagrams from a text description, rather than in Adobe Illustrator, which is how I’ve made them in the past.
